Provide consumers with knowledge and education around your sustainable efforts letting them know how you are making a difference, with their support.
PRODUCT FORMULATION
Take a look at your product offerings and ask yourself, “Can we make some clean and sustainable changes to our formula without compromising performance?” This is the age-old question when it comes to clean or natural formulas. Work with R&D to see how you can “clean up” your formula and remove any toxic ingredients. This can take time, but it is important to make sure the formula performance is not affected during any changes. If this is not something you can do then take a look at other options, such as your product packaging.
PRODUCT PACKAGING
As the demand for sustainable packaging increases, so do the packaging innovations! Suppliers are continuously working on new technologies to implement in packaging that will allow brands to limit waste and toxins. There are many routes to take for packaging such as refillable, PCR, glass/recyclable, and much more. It is important for brands to take a step back and look at their product line or collection as a whole to determine the best way to move forward.
